The Beginning
The company gained its worldwide reputation from Mark Zaslavsky, a Ukrainian immigrant who moved from a country with a hard regime to Miami in 1980 in pursuit of fertile ground for free enterprise.
Mark Zaslavsky has achieved success due to his hard work, saying that in the beginning of his life he worked as a dishwasher and a short-order cook before scraping together enough money to open a small deli-grocery in the USA.
The empire of delicacy imports and exports began in 1983 with the opening of a small shop that sold imported caviar and smoked salmon on 79th Street in Miami, FL by CEO’s Mark Zaslavsky and Mark Gelman. Gradually, the extension of their roots developed into the ‘Russian Store’ as it was then called. The assortment expanded to Russian goods such as candies and cakes, preserves, canned goods, wider range of caviar, exotic truffles, foie gras, meats, cheeses, fine wines and champagnes.
A Successful Tree Grows From a Strong Sprout
The small shop in Miami grew into a large-scale world-renowned company with large merchants of elite products was due to a great reputation that surrounded the firm. By properly meeting obligations to partners, customers, standing true to the brands identity and only supplying products in their best quality was a huge factor to the success.
The supply of desired rare goods at reasonable prices such a successful that it attracted more customers, there by expanding the range of imported goods to include seafood, tea, oil, spices and more.

The Horizon Wasn’t Always Cloudless
There were times when the company’s development prospects did not seem successful. The government’s ban on the import of wild Beluga in the form of whole fish and caviar from it in 2005 was introduced just so the development of business could be prevented.
However, in the spirit of a true entrepreneur, Marky’s knew that each obstacle entails new opportunities. Since sturgeon caviar could not be imported from previous sources for the time being, the opportunity to grow the relevant species of fish on farms in the country appeared.
The prudent decision to open Sturgeon Aqua Farms, one of Marky’s business units, has helped the company thrive as a supplier of caviar by engaging in the cultivation of valuable fish in artificial conditions.
The unit, originally estimated as a project, required a lot of funding and means to provide a great return on its investment. Today it has become the main source of legal caviar by meeting all legal requirements.

Filling the shelves of Marky’s Gourmet Store in Miami, Caviar & More kiosk as well as Beluga Bar both in Aventura Mall, Marky’s Caviar Hollywood Lounge in Hollywood, FL and Marky’s Caviar on Madison with the conjoining caviar speakeasy Huso in New York which landed on the Michelin Plate in 2020.
